Antistatic agents are additives added to plastics or coated on the surface of molded products to reduce the accumulation of static electricity. Usually according to the use of different methods, antistatic agents can be divided into two categories of internal and external coating type, used for plastics are mainly internal antistatic agents. It can also be divided into two categories of temporary and permanent according to the performance of antistatic agents.

Antistatic agent is a substance that can increase the conductivity of the surface of the film and prevent the accumulation of static electricity. It can be miscible with gelatin alone as the antistatic layer of the photosensitive film, and can also be added to the emulsion protective layer, the back layer, and can also be directly added to the emulsion layer. Commonly used are phosphoric acids (such as amide phosphate), inorganic semiconductor salts (such as cuprous and silver halides), carbon black, sodium cellulose sulfate and so on.
